Long time, no post. Can't believe I haven't posted since last year. Well, the new year started off different. Bruce was laid off from his job of 16 years in the middle of January. My biggest job has been budgeting our money to last untill he gets another job. He's gotten lots of phone calls from old MSC people who have moved on, and a couple of them know of openings in the companies they are working for. We'll see what happens. I too am looking for a job. Sad news about the lead singer for Boston. So as a tribute, I have included a Boston song here on my page. Enjoy and remember! Chris started out good 2nd quarter, was getting all B's and C's with a few wonderful A's. Then he got the flu on his birthday and missed 2 days of school. He fell behind and now we are trying to catch up and save his grades. He now has 2 F's that we are not happy about. He finally saved up enough for a PS2 and we got a Wii for his birthday. But, with the bad grades, he's grounded from all of them. The Wii is a blast. Finally got a game system we can play as a family again. Chris also got Guitar Hero from Uncle Paul and Aunt Cheryl for Christmas. He loves it. Well, American Idol is a bust this year. I don like Chris Sligh though. The bowling girls and I just went to Youngstown Ohio for the State tournament, and even though we didn't kill them in bowling, we had a great time. A well needed break. What a riot! Can't wait until May when we go to Charlotte, NC for Nationals. Crazy weather in Ohio, we had 3 great days last week with temperatures rising from 50's to high 60's. Then it turned cold again. Bruce and I had walking everyday for 3 miles. Haven't walked in the last 2 days. I guess I need to visit the treadmill. Today is St. Patrick's Day and I made Irish Chicken and Irish Soda Bread. We are headed to the Wright's house for a dinner and those are the items I am taking. Movies we've seen lately: Music and Lyrics (Great and Funny), 300 (Bruce and Chris loved it, I didn't go), Ghost Rider (Good), Babel (Not good), Departed (Confusing and didn't like), Man of the Year (Chris and Bruce said it was good, I fell asleep), The Illusionist (Great, much better than The Prestige), Facing the Giants (Great Christian Family Movie). Can't wait until Spring Break, probably going to the lake. Bruce is planning some fishing with Chris, Doug and Austin, then Eric Aldridge and his son are coming over to fish the following weekend. It will be a nice get-a-way. Well, better finish up the Irish food and get ready to go. |
